FAQ

What is  a Public Insurance Adjuster?
Public Insurance Adjusters are licensed professionals who are retained by policy holders to assist in preparing, filing, and adjusting insurance claims. Public Adjusters work for you in getting the maximum amount you are owed for your insurance claim. We work for you to obtain the most equitable and prompt settlement possible.

Why Do I need a Public Insurance Adjuster?
A Public Insurance Adjuster works for the person, group or business that has sustained a loss. Public Insurance Adjusters do not work for the insurance companies. The highly stressful period following a loss is a difficult time for homeowners and business owners. Think about it: Insurance companies are in business to make money. They make money from your premiums, and agree to compensate you for your losses. But, when a loss actually occurs, it only makes sense that insurance companies try to settle your claims for the lowest amount possible as doing so ensures a greater profit for them at the end of the year.

You only find out how complicated your policy is after you’ve suffered a loss. A typical policy contains hundreds of provisions and stipulations, constantly changing forms, endorsements and many other complex details, such as inventory appraisals and real estate evaluations. Most claimants do not know that the burden of proof to support their claim is on them. Public Insurance Adjusters know the insurance business and are familiar with all procedures, so we work diligently and effectively to get you the most money that you are due. A Public Insurance Adjuster can step in at anytime so you can get on with your life or business.  More importantly, Public Insurance Adjusters perform.

How and when is a Public Insurance Adjuster paid?
We, at Hawaii Public Adjusters charge a nominal percentage of the settlement of your claim. That percentage is established at the very beginning of the adjustment process and agreed to by you. We are paid as your insurance claim payments are paid. We do not expect any upfront payments where an attorney typically would, no matter what the outcome of your claim.  Its serves both our interest to secure as high a settlement that you are entitled to.
